Artificial intelligence
Expanded definition
AI is the broad field, not a single product. Machine learning is the part of AI that learns patterns from data instead of only following hand-written rules. Deep learning is machine learning that uses neural networks with many layers. Generative AI is the part that creates new text, images, audio, or video. A large language model is a generative model for language and code. A chatbot, an agent, and an API are products built on models; they are not the definition of AI. GenAIWiki lists verified models and tools inside this field. A marketing label of AI is not proof that a system is a foundation model.
